Value Added Assembly Production Technician 3rd Shift

Produces, finishes, inspects, packages, and labels parts requiring value added assembly processing.

  • Hours are 11pm-7am Sunday to Thursday, starting at $20.14/hour.
We have an opening for a Value Added Assembly Production Technician on 3rd shift to Produce, finish, inspect, package, and label parts requiring value added assembly processing.
Job Description
  • Reads written work instructions to finish and assemble parts and components per established job specifications.
  • Operates various pieces of assembly equipment, including mills, drill and punch presses, sonic welders, pad printers, hot stampers, reamers, arbor presses, etc.
  • Clips or trims finished parts using hand tools such as X-Acto knife, clippers, or pliers.
  • Assembles finished parts with or without additional non-molded components.
  • Measures finished parts using measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Visually inspects finished parts for defects according to the control plan.
  • Identifies and documents quality problems, following established quality control procedures.
  • Weighs and packages finished parts.
  • Assembles boxes for packaging.
  • Monitors scrap, and completes Scrap Reports as needed.
  • Provides backup assistance in production and/or assembly as assigned.
  • Follows all established safety policies and procedures.
  • Supports the Lean Manufacturing initiatives of the company.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Job Requirements & Working Conditions

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
  • Consistent and regular attendance is required
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred; in lieu of degree must be able to read/speak/write/comprehend English and be able to perform basic measurements.
  • Must possess the ability to read and comprehend detailed work instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety policies and rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Must possess the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Must also possess the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Basic computer proficiency skills are required. Previous experience with IQMS or related integrated manufacturing software systems is preferred.

 

  • Must possess the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions, and the ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, bend, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.   • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
  • This position works on-site daily in Manitowoc, WI. Remote work option is not available.
