
Quality Technician 1st Shift
Verify product compliance by measuring components, visual validation, testing components and performing verification/moistures.
1st shift Hours are 7am-3pm Monday-Friday, starting at $16.14/hour.
We have one opening on 1st shift for a Quality Technician. The Quality Technician will verify product compliance by measuring components, visual validation, testing components and performing verification/moistures.
Job Description
- On site regular and reliable attendance is required.
- Inspects and validates parts visually by utilizing Control Plans and Controlled Documents.
- Operates CMM, VMM, calipers, micrometers, indicators, and other miscellaneous inspection gages; visually inspects parts, products or components for defects.
- Pull moisture samples to verify moisture levels by using the Moisture Analyzer and Dew Point reader.
- Properly documents results in IQMS by using the Control Plans
- Organization is key to verify all measurement tools are inventoried and calibrated. Notifying the QC Manager when items are needed.
- Responsible to support culture of continuous improvement in work flow and methods in the QC lab.
- Provides input and suggestions for equipment performance and quality of product.
- Assists employees in solving work problems.
- Supports and understands the RMR (Reject Material Reports) process and associated paperwork.
- Works closely with production team leaders and supervisors.
- Supports the continuous improvement initiatives of the company.
- Supports, follows and enforces all safety policies and practices of the company and OSHA standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Job Requirements & Working Conditions
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required; an Associate degree in Quality or related field is preferred. Blueprint reading skills including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) are preferred.
- Must have effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, the ability to write basic reports and correspondence, and the ability to communicate instructions clearly and effectively to employees.
- Must have basic computer proficiency in a Windows environment, preferably with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, and have the ability to learn new software. Experience with IQMS or related integrated manufacturing software is preferred.
- Must possess basic mathematical skills, with the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Proficient in understanding metric to English conversion. Ability to compute rate, ratio, percent’s, and to create and interpret bar graphs, SPC and run charts.
- This position requires the ability to interpret and carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form. Must possess the ability to address and resolve problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Must be able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
- Must be self-motivated and show initiative.
