Administer, Facilitate, and Support HR Functions

We have an opportunity for a Human Resources Generalist to administer HR policies, procedures, employee relations, compensation and payroll, organizational development, and recruitment. This position supports the health and wellness initiatives of the company, provides benefit programs support, and ensures legal compliance of the organization.

 

Job Requirements/Working Conditions:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related business field required.
• Five years of experience working in Human Resources required, preferably in the manufacturing industry
• SHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
• Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are required. Must have the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
• Excellent computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook/Teams) required. Previous experience with an HRIS system preferred experience with UKG Pro a plus.
• Advanced communication and interpersonal skills required - a sense of diplomacy, ability to build trust and rapport, and ability to help solve problems.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Recruits, interviews, selects, and onboards employees to fill open positions with top talent. Manages recruitment advertising, social media, and career fairs as necessary.
  • Provides assistance to all employees in the organization in addressing and resolving employee relations issues, concerns, complaints, and problems.
  • Ensures compliance with federal and state employment laws and practices.
  • Prepares employees status changes with documentation and administers as necessary.
  • Administers benefit programs such as health, dental, vision, life, disability, vacation, 401k, etc.

  • Conducts wage surveys within the labor market, analyzes trends, and ensures compliance and equity within the organization.
  • Processes employee changes in software programs, and assists in the payroll process.
  • Administers FMLA leaves in accordance with the law.
  • Participates in company safety and activity committee meetings, including assisting in organizing company events.
  • Completes Affirmative Action Plan and ensures the accurate tracking of applicants, promotions, job changes, hires, and terminations for annual updating of the plan document; maintains EEO-1 records; completes and files annual Affirmative Action EEO and VETS reports.

  • Maintains and updates job descriptions, Employee Handbooks, and organizational charts.
  • Maintains confidentiality of the information and treats employees fairly. Remains open to others’ ideas and exhibits a willingness to try new things.
  • Supports the safety and lean manufacturing initiatives of the company.
  • Provides support for all shifts of the facility and works additional hours as necessary to complete projects.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned
